Review: Solar Bullet

November 28, 2010

Ever since I first discovered toys and masturbating, I have always preferred bullets over anything else. Unknowingly, I started out with disposable batteries. After always wasting money on them (it took me a while to realize how having now good batteries on hand was annoying, leading up to expensive), I switched to rechargeable batteries and wall charger.

After becoming more advanced in my masturbatory adventures, I eventually bought rechargeable toys. One toy that has always fascinated me was the Solar Bullet. A while ago I noticed that Babeland was offering its reviewers just that, the Soar Bullet. I jumped at the opportunity to try it out.

The bullet comes in a very Earth friendly material box. The instructions for the bullet say to charge the bullet in direct light (preferably sun), for eight hours, giving it a one hour fun time charge. When placed in direct light, the solar power pack lights up a small LED light to indicate charging mode.

My bullet arrived in the late afternoon, so I could not give it a full charge until the next day. To get it ready, I just stuck it in my window where the sun shines directly through. One nice thing about charging this toy, is that the bullet/cord is detachable, making it very inconspicuous and not a huge question raiser.

Once fully charged the next night, I plugged the bullet in to test it out. The on switch is a slider switch; I have never had the best experiences with these types of on/offs, since the slider eventually wears out or gets stuck on one setting. The bullet itself is a very soft, almost velvety texture. The toy is definitely not waterproof, but will wipe off easily with a war

After turning the bullet on, I was a little creeped out by the LED light the shone at the tip of the bullet. I also noticed that the bullet itself when on was very buzzy. More buzzy than normal. I, myself, prefer deeper vibrations. This one was very shallow and fast vibrations.

Honestly, the I could not feel the vibrations that the bullet gave off because they were so shallow and fast. The only thing I really felt was something in my body feeling more aroused by the second. I am going to guess that if these vibes continued, they would have lead to a very forced orgasm.

For once in my life, the vibrations became too much, too overwhelming. I, much too soon, had to put the bullet away and trade it for something that would get the job done with more feeling.

All in all, the Solar Bullet is an awesome concept. I also plan to keep it handy, just in case I forget to charge my actual batteries, since the power pack can sit out in the open without people raising curiosity. This is definitely not a beginner’s toy.

Thank you Babeland for letting my review this product!

Review Big Flirt

November 8, 2010

In May the awesome people at Babeland sent me something to review. Huge apologies for this being so late in posting, but I hope its better late than never. I had just been so busy, not giving me the time to test or review. So, what did they send me, you ask?

Babeland sent me the Big Flirt in red. I had never been curious about butt play until Toby finally went there in August 2009. In May 2010 Babeland offered up the Big Flirt, giving me the chance to experiement alone.

The Big Flirt is silicone, making it fully sterilizable by boiling for 3 minutes or top rack of the dishwasher, no soap. Being a butt toy though, be sure to use lots of lube with it (though keep in mind it is silicone, so only used waterbased, never use silicone lube on silicone toys, as you will have a very sad (and useless) toy.

First thing when I got the Big Flirt, I noticed the size. I have to admit, it was a tad bit bigger than I had thought. Being slightly intimidated, I held off on testing it out for a bit. However, when I finally did build up my courage, I washed it with hot soapy water, applied very generous amounts of lube to the toy and the outside of my anus.

Slowly and carefully, I slipped the plug in, enjoying the different sensation that I had not felt in almost a year. At first the toy stayed in place, with me on my back, ass arching up for toy testing. However, the Big Flirt began to slip out. I believe this is because the small neck above the base was just not quite long enough.

I finally did get into a position, however, that I was able to get out my vibrator and use it as well as hold the Big Flirt in place.

All in all, the Big Flirt is definitely not a beginner butt toy. I would definitely suggest something with a smaller girth, but for an experimenter like me, it was decent (as intimidating as it was at first) it was a good size. The only thing I would change about it would be to make the neck longer.

Again, thank you Babland, so much, for the opportunity to review this toy, and also apologies for not reviewing this sooner.

Product Review: Ella

May 4, 2010

I love products by Lelo. They always have a sleek and beautiful design. My newest product I have received from Babeland, made by Lelo, is the Ella. I have fallen in love with it.

Like all Lelo products, it comes packaged in a designed to fit box. Inside the box is a plastic molding and covering for the toy. Fitting perfectly inside is the Ella. Lift up the molding to find a satin-like pouch for storage of the Ella, product information booklet (giving tips and tricks for the toy, as well as advice on cleaning and product specs. Also inside is the warranty information from Lelo, as well as an advertisement booklet with pictures of other Lelo products.

Although Ella is made from silicone, it is suggested to keep from extreme heat (this means don’t boil it for sterilization as you would for other silicone products). The best method for cleaning, as suggested in the booklet, is hot water and antibacterial soap. Since it is silicone, you want to keep it away from silicone lubricants, preferably using something water based.

The Ella is designed as a two sided dildo, one side designed for G-Spot stimulation, the other for traditional vaginal stimulation. Sadly for me, as with every other G-Spot specified toys, the G-Spot side of the toy didn’t do much for me. However, it still felt good having it inside me as I stimulated myself and reached orgasm.

I will add the Ella to my list of favorite toys. Even though the G-Spot side didn’t have the intended effects, the G-Spot side was my favorite side, with the way it seemed to fit perfectly inside of me. Thank you Babeland for giving me the opportunity to review a product by one of my favorite companies.

Review: 365 Reasons to Have Sex Calender

December 31, 2009

Towards the end of the year, I begin looking for a calendar for the new year. It was lucky timing that the awesome people at Babeland offered to let me have just that, a calendar, for review. Now, this is not just any calendar, it’s a “365 Reasons to Have Sex” calendar. I thought it was perfect for me.

The calender is filled with more than just reasons to have sex. On each page of this daily calendar, there is a pickup line, a bit of “wisdom” (just some random fact or piece of advice that, of course, has to do with sex), and a tear off “solicitation note” telling your potential partner your reason to have sex with them, checkboxes for (a) please (b) pretty please (c) I’ll pay you (d) or else, where, when, and “please bring,” and with checkboxes at the bottom of the tear off page saying (a) I’ll respect you in the morning (b) I’ll call you (c) The kids won’t hear us. Lastly, at the bottom of each page it will say how many days left in the year there are to “copulate.”

Flipping through the calendar, I noticed that some days of the year will go along with the “reason to have sex.” For example, on January 18, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the reason is “Three day weekends make me hot.”

Speaking of weekends, instead of having two separate reasons for having sex on each day of the weekend, the calendar has a “reason to have sex this weekend” instead, putting Saturdays and Sundays on the same page.

I love this calendar, and can’t wait to set it out when the New Year comes around. Thank you Babeland for giving me the opportunity to review it.

Review: Tickled Pink Restraints

November 1, 2009

There is nothing hotter, in my opinion, than one partner having a little bit more control than the other. I have always had the fantasy of incorporating handcuffs into the bedroom. Thanks to Babeland, I got some Tickled Pink Restraints to review.

The Restraints are not your traditional furry handcuffs. They  come as two separate cuffs, a 36 inch long nylon strap. The cuffs are pink and so soft. I love the feel of them around my wrists. I showed them to several appreciative friends and they loved the feel as well.

At first, I was a little put off by having to figure out a secure way to tie the straps on the bed, yet also easy to untie them, but after a few advice on knots by friends, I gave them a try. Just simply make a double knot around the bars (or whatever they are being tied onto) and they are easily undone when untied. Another way to tie them would be to just tie the straps together, and wrapping them around whatever is available. The long straps give you the option for your partner to have as much slack (or as little) as you want.

Thank you so much Babeland. I love the Restraints and can’t wait to be able to use them with a partner. I am sure they will bring much excitement to the bedroom in the future.

Review: Crocodile Clamps

October 28, 2009

Because my nipples have never been that sensitive, I have loved the idea of nipple clamps. That is why I was very happy to get the chance to review the Crocodile Clamps from Babeland.

The clamps are designed to be adjustable. It took me a while to figure out how to adjust the pressure of the clamps, but eventually I figured out that you have to open the clamps and then screw in the screw that sets the tightness of the clamping.

The pressure of the clamps depends on how far the screw is in or out of the clamps. There is also a rubber tip at the end of the clamps, and when removed, the clamps definitely have more of a bite to them.

The clamps are held together by a metal chain that is very strongly linked. I think that is the only downfall about the clamps, because the chain is so heavy that it makes the clamps more likely to fall off. (That also depends on how tight or how loose you like your clamps to be).

Thank you so much Babeland for giving me the chance to review these clamps. I love them! They will definitely be of continued use in my future bedroom play.

Review: Flower Balm

September 30, 2009

Sensation heightening gels/creams have never really done much for me, but I always keep an open mind, ready and willing to try something new. That is why I took the chance to review the Flower Balm when Babeland offered.

After a few days of waiting, I finally got a package from Babeland. The balm tin comes in a little cardboard box. I was pleased to find that the tin was fairly easy to open, unlike many other balm tins I have seen.

At first whiff, the scent of the Flower Balm seemed slightly pleasant. However, after several more sniffs, the smell almost seemed kind of gross. The scent/flavor of the balm is mandarin mint.

Nonetheless, I decided to give the balm a try anyways, ignoring the smell. I dipped my finger into the balm and collected a generous amount on my finger. I started by rubbing some of the balm on my nipples. I definitely felt them being rubbed, but no balm.

Next, I rubbed the rest of the balm onto my clit. I rubbed for a few seconds, but felt nothing. After about 30 seconds, though, my nipples began to feel cold. Just a few short seconds after, my clit began to feel cold as well. It felt like someone was blowing cold air onto both my clit and nipples.

Unfortunately, that was the only thing I felt from the balm. It didn’t increase sensation in neither my clit nor my nipples. The cool sensation felt nice, but not nice to help me finish the job faster.

The balm was easy to wash off, just use warm water and soap. I think that if I was more sensitive in the nipples and clit, I may have a different opinion about the balm. The truth is though, the balm really didn’t do the trick. However, that does not mean I will stop using it. It will definitely help spice things up later in the bedroom once I find a partner to play with.

Review: Better Than Chocolate

September 29, 2009

I have a huge sweet tooth, chocolate being my favorite sweet. That being said, you can imagine my excitement when Babeland gave me the chance to try something that is supposed to be better than chocolate.

Better Than Chocolate is a designer vibrator from Nomi Tang. It comes in a beautifully decorated box that has velvet lining inside. Inside the box is the toy itself, a small instructions booklet, and a velvet drawstring bag.

The toy is very uniquely shaped, meant to fit perfectly against the vulva and clit area. The material is made from elastomer, which means it is not completely sterilizable, but not as porous as other materials (i.e. jelly).

The controls took a while to get used to, and I still am having difficulties with them, though it is getting easier to use. There is a push power button at the top and a slide touch control right below. Slide the control up for more power and down to decrease speed of vibration. The control is not marked, but there is a temporary sticker on top with a (+) and a (-) on each end.

There are different vibration patterns as well. To get to them, simply press down on the NT logo side of the touch sensor for two seconds. Repeat to cycle through each vibration pattern until finally returning back to the steady vibration mode. To lock onto one favorite setting, hold down the opposite side of the touch sensor for two seconds.

Better Than Chocolate is waterproof up until one meter. That means the toy can be immersed in up to one meter of water. However, when the touch sensor gets wet, it automatically locks into the setting it is currently on. To unlock it, dry off the sensor.

Better Than Chocolate takes 2 AAA batteries. They are fairly easy to insert. There is a twist cap at one corner of the toy and the battery compartment is marked so it is easy to tell which battery goes where.

In all honesty, Better Than Chocolate wasn’t better than chocolate for me. I felt like the vibrations weren’t strong enough for my taste. However, the toy makes an awesome massager for more than just naughty things. It fits wonderfully on places like the shoulders and neck.

Thank you Babeland for letting me try out the Better Than Chocolate.

Product Review: LAYAspot

September 8, 2009

I have always heard awesome things about the LAYAspot by Fun Factory. When the awesome people at Babeland offered one for me to review, I couldn’t resist.

The LAYAspot massager is “splash proof,” meaning it is not water proof, but a little wetness won’t hurt it (i.e. washing it, lube, etc.). It also has an awesome design, as it is made to lay against any body part without too much disruption (it fits nicely against my lady bits).

There are about seven (or eight, I had a hard time deciding) speeds of steady vibration. To turn on the toy, simply hold the (+) button. Press it again to advance one speed. Hold down the (+) symbol for about a second to turn on the different vibration modes. Pressing (-) will take you back to steady vibrations.

There are three different vibration patterns (four if you count the steady vibes). The first vibration pattern after steady vibrations is a slow pulse. The second pattern is shorter and faster pulses. The third and last mode is even faster vibrations and more intense pulses.

The pulse vibrations (on this toy and other toys) have never really done anything for me, but I know a lot of people who love pulse vibration modes. Honestly, I thought that even the steady vibrations, even at maximum speed, weren’t enough to get me off. There may be seven speeds, but there was not much change it felt like when moving from one speed to the next.

The LAYAspot massager is made from elastomer, which means it is not fully sterilizable, but not as porous as other materials. It is very easy to clean, just use a toy cleaner and warm water or soap and warm water.

The massager takes two AAA batteries. To turn off the toy, just press the (-) button until all vibrations stop. However, make sure to take out the batteries after each use because I noticed that in the dark a little red light blinks, showing that the toy is still technically on, using up your precious battery life.

All in all, I was a little disappointed in the LAYAspot, as it did not live up to its expectations from me, but that is just me. A lot of others love this toy, and I will definitely keep trying and giving it another chance to try to please me. So head on over to Babeland and check it out.

Review: Babeland Toy Cleaner

September 7, 2009

It is so important to keep our toys clean. Not only so that they last longer, but also for safety and health reasons. So you can imagine how happy I was when I got a chance to review the Babeland Toy Cleaner.

The cleaner comes in a 6 oz. spray bottle. I was surprised at how big the 6 oz. really was. The cleaner has a very pleasant scent. I want to describe the scent as pretty, as it is sweet and flowery all at once.

Cleaner

Over the next few days after receiving the cleaner, I would use it on my toy before and after each use. I only needed one spray or two to cover the toy in cleaner, and then rinsed them off in warm water.

I thought this cleaner worked awesome in keeping my toys fresh and clean. The Babeland Toy Cleaner works on all different toys and materials. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of a cleaner. Thanks Babeland!
